The Faster Pastor

Hi Friends,

This is not a solicitation to donate to me, but to donate to the Morgan Adams Foundation (MAF) for children’s cancer research and treatment.  I’m paying my own entry fee and expenses, so 100% of your donation goes to MAF and is tax deductible.  This is the 10th year for Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing’s “Race Against Kids’ Cancer” at High Plains Raceway near Byers, CO on the weekend of August 1-2.  We have raised over $1.25 million so far and the goal for this year is $250,000 to put us up to the $1.5 million mark.  This has been a tough year financially for many of us, including medical providers considered non-essential.  For that reason, I’m hoping that if you are able you will make a donation to keep the important work of MAF going.

My racing story began 20 years ago driving a Formula Vee in one of 5 Race Groups in RMVR.  I did get a couple of wins and podium finishes, but it’s always been fun.  Two years ago, I made a big change to join the Small Bore Production Car Group driving a Mazda Rx7 and have enjoyed it even more.  In our first race this year, I posted an overall win in my Group.  My previous donors will notice my new car has the same number as my old car 3:16.  If that number sounds familiar, you’ll find it in the Gospel of John.  Along with my other role of serving as Race Steward, I also have served as Race Chaplain for 20 years.  After I won the first race, one of the drivers dubbed me “The Faster Pastor.”

Thanks to you, we met my donation goal last year.  We also had the honor of being the pace car for the Big Bore Production Car race and having a TV cameraman ride along to film it for a newscast.  Your help with a donation this year would be especially appreciated.  If you are able, go to: https://rmvr.raceagainstkidscancer.org/Chad-Wight/

Please ask me if you have any questions.

Thanks,
